Iowa Donor Network recognize’s DCH

Decatur County Hospital was recognized by the Iowa Donor Network in their effort of Organ and Tissue Donation. Decatur County Hospital had a Tissue Conversion Rate of 60% or Higher in 2012 and 2013. Decatur County Ambulance also recognized with the Iowa Donor Network’s Newcomer Award the period of January 2013-June 2014.

The Iowa Donor Network has presented an award to Decatur County Hospital for having over 60% of the patients who were eligible for tissue donation consenting to donation. The Decatur County Ambulance also was presented the Newcomer Award for their referrals during January 2013-June 2014.

By contacting the Iowa Donor Network following a death, the Decatur County Hospital’s staff “are the link between potential donors and the recipients who are waiting for a life-changing gift,” said Iowa Donor Network.
