Katie Routh is a registered dietitian and does meal planning for patients.  Decatur County Hospital offers a comprehensive diabetes education program, which can help you understand more about prevetion and treatment of diabetes.

Linda and Katie can meet with you on an individual basis to set up personalized plans for: meals, exercises, and blood suguar management

Ambulatory Surgery

 Decatur County Hospital Ambulatory Surgery Department will deliver quality, individualized patient care while maintaining exceptional customer satisfaction through a competent, compassionate and friendly staff. From arrival time until the time of discharge, our focus is on patient comfort.
 
Cardiac Rehabilitation
Cardiac Rehab heart and vascular studies health and lifestyleCardiac Rehab is a program designed to help you recover from different kinds of heart surgeries or a heart attack. This is a monitored program supervised by nurses and overseen by a doctor. Cardiac Rehab gives you information on healthy lifestyle changes, dietary alterations, and risk factor modifications. We are available five days a week with adjustable time schedules. We want to take care of you and help you learn more, stay close to home, and get the services you need. Decatur County Hospital offers many different heart and vascular related studies. We do stress test five days a week and specialize in nuclear medicine cardiolytes on Fridays. Iowa Mobile Diagnostic (IMD) comes to do vascular studies on Tuesday's and echocardiograms on Thursday's. These studies include: carotid artery studies, venous and abdominal duplex studies, and arterial studies. For more information, contact Julie Parmer at 641-446-2285.
 
Clinic Services
alt Our Outpatient Clinic Coordination department takes patient referrals by physicians and sets them up with the proper specialty clinic. A wide variety of specialty clinics are available, many of which can save you an expensive and time-consuming trip to Des Moines. 
 
Emergency Medical Services

Emergency services are available 24 hours a day, 7 days a week. Our team of professional EMT's have been providing emergency care and transport for the ill and injured since 1970, and are the only emergency transport service available within Decatur County.
 
Laboratory
certified Medical Laboratory Technicians and Medical TechnologistsWe pride ourselves on offering our patients the latest technology available to facilities of our size. We are staffed with courteous and caring employees who have all received certification as Medical Laboratory Technicians or Medical Technologists.
 
Radiology
Diagnostic imaging, CT Scanning, New Didgital Mammography coming soon, MRI, Nuclear Medicine are all services provided at DCH. Our images are all interpreted by Diagnostic Imaging Associates, the Mercy Hospital Radiologist group, with 24/7 coverage for emergency readings. Our Technologists have 75+ years of experience, are ARRT registered, and certified by the State of Iowa in CT. The Mammography has been certified by the State for 19 years. We can provide medical imaging for you no matter where your physician is located.
